Stockport U16 v Buffalo

Disappointed but not dispondent!

July 21st 2003, 7:30pm. Buffalo had heard that the Cale Green outfit had just completed the season undefeated and could be the toughest game they will play on this tour. Their fear was proved right.

What a game.

First quarter although the Americans scored the first goal quickly, this did not intimidate the Stockport players, they won the next face and quickly equalised. Two more quick goals followed from Stockport. Quarter score 3 - 2 in favour of Stockport.

Second quarter saw a tight period, with some great play from both teams, only one goal scored in favour of the Stockport team.

Third quarter saw the boys in blue score another two goals, with only one from the USA team. Stockport 6 - 3 Buffalo.

Final period what a great game this had been and the Stockport team looked set to winning their final game together as a team. Unfortunately discipline let them down, the Americans saw this and despite some excellent play by the long stick players and keeper Derek Wright, they managed to snatch the victory in the last seconds of the game. Stockport 6 - 7 Buffalo.
