Stockport Juniors Shine! Great game and not disgraced

Tuesday 21st July, 2003, saw yet another American team touring Stockport, Amahurst (Buffalo) hosted by Sheffield Steelers.
Stockport Under 14's still very young with the youngest player at 9 1/2yrs upto 13 1/2yrs. Weather changed for the worst with a heavy down pour before the game, welcome to Stockport as the Americans arrived.

First quarter saw the Americans take the lead fairly quickley, followed by a excellent goal by Greg Rowlinson with another quick goal by Jammie Hardman assisted by Greg Rowlinson. Quarter score 2 - 1 for Stockport.

Second quarter totally different play with Greg being marked out of the game, the Americans turned the game in their favour 2 - 4 at half time.

Third quarter what can we say, Buffalo had four men sent off keeping the bench officials very busy, the Stockport lads failed to take advantage of this, putting only one shot at the keeper who saved it with ease, 2 - 5 was the score line in favour of the Americans. Final score 2 - 7.

Keeper James Williamson saved a total of 17 shots out of 24, the defenders played well, with little support from the midi's who struggled to make it back.
