11th Dec 1911: Secretary's letter to member, 'My committee
desires me to ask you why you did not make yourself eligible
to play on Saturday last'. Members reply to the Committee, 'Gentlemen,
Why I did not make myself eligible to play on the 9th has got
nothing whatever to do with you. Therefore I consider you had
no right to have left me off the team last week. Because you
did so I decline to play for the let team again, and if you
refuse to put me on the A team after Christmas please accept
my resignation.
20th December 1924: 'The Employers Liability Assurance Corporation'
fire policy nr 225023, assured 'the treasurer for the time being
of the Stockport' for the 'timber built pavilion situated on
Savages Farm, Aswood Stockport, not artificially lighted, It
is understood that a portable oil stove standing on incombustible
material and free from contact with wood-work is allowed to
be used. All insured for the sum of £100.00, having premium
of 15 shillings ~75 new pence]
21st June 1929: 'Gate receipts for 1st Team matches total
£123 pounds, 7 shillings, and 10 pence, (or £3040.00 at todays
value)
4th March 1929: 'a cheque received from the MELA, being the
amount of interest on the loan from this Club for the NELA shares
in the Manchester Athletic Club ground'
23rd September 1929: It was resolved to 'advertise the Boardman
match at Cale Green on the 18th, on the buses and trans.' and
'for fixtures to be displayed on the screen at the various local
cinemas
28th Nov. 1932: 'agreed to alter the traditional Stockport
v Rest of Cheshire game to Boxing Day, as oppose to Christmas
Day morning. (reverted back the following year)
9th Jan. 1939: 'A serious complaint was received from the
Steward of the Cricket Club re the behaviour of members of the
A Team on Saturday 7th, and after the matter had been discussed
it was resolved to summon the seven reported members to appear
before the General Committee on Monday next, Jan 16th at 8.00
oclock.
AGM 23rd Sept 1940: 'an air raid alarm was sounded at this
stage and it was unanimously decided to proceed with the business
on hand'

(friendly) won 12-7, Capt. Mic Moore: 'good game in defence'Steve
Gait, 18th Nov
1967 against Manchester Univ. won 13-1, Capt Mic Moore: 'deserves
a special mention against a difficult opponent'.
Tony Woodward, 4th Nov.1967 against Sheffield Univ. lost 3-6,
Capt Mic Moore: 'filled one of the (cryed-off) places well'.
Tony Malkin, 23rd March 1968 against Oldham & Wernath, drew
11-11, Capt. Mic Moore: 'scored on first appearance - played
well in a hard fought game'
Andy Hiller, 27th April 1974 against Sheffield University,
drew 4-4, Capt. Pat Weiss 'in attack showed handling skills
which augurs well for the future'

John Wolfenden: 'tremendous midfield support on his debut for
